Does anyone think that it is "to loud" when you do the dirty work?

Remember that you are closer to the gimmick and also have a business card screening the sound. If it makes you uncomfortable then talk (ask question) whilst writing.

I also find that this one is good if done with a little ambient noise around; bars, restaurants, outside, parties, etc.
