Does anybody use magnets in their effects? I had this idea of doing a watch stop routine in which I secretly touch a magnet to somebodies watch and then touch it again and start it up. But the only problem here is, I'm not 100% sure if the watch will start back up again. I remember one time I touched my PSP to one of those clear glass globe things with the lightning bolts inside and then when I touched it again, the PSP started working again.

Go to a store that sells watches, and "test" it out.

Try all different types, while making it seem like you're "just looking"

When you try it on real people/watches first ask them if the watch means anything to them, or if it was just a watch.

If you're performing, don't use a watch you can't afford to replace.

One thing, cheap watches work. Expensive/designer watches will not.

Also, if the second-hand tics, it will be fine. If it moves smoothly, you will break the watch.

I use magnets in my routines. The Relic is one I use constantly in close up, parlor, and stage shows. Sometimes I will use my pk ring to stop watches and whenever I do this I always have them think "stop."

Another good effect with a pk ring is Prohibition (cap in bottle) since it takes all the heat off "magnets" and is completely impromptu.

And if you have a heckler then tell him you will make his credit car vanish...touch it to your pk ring and then say "I'm sorry. I couldn't make it vanish so I guess you were right that I suck as a magician." :D

Get the bat/m5. personally i use a bat, m5 is too big. the bat is, in my opinion, one of the better devices in magic and is easily concealed.
