Between Mentalism and Mental Magic? I read on the forums a lot that "this is closer to mental magic than mentalism" or something along those lines, and I honestly do not know what the difference is. I guess I use mentalism as a broad term that includes things which some people consider mental magic. Anyone able to clear this up for me? Thanks

Mental magic, in my opinion, is presented more of like a trick. Sort of a "hey you just picked out a random card and I had the same card value written down somewhere, isn't that neat?". Whereas mentalism is more of a "okay so pick a random card of your free choice and I will divine it through some sort of higher mental ability". Basically, the difference is between the type of effects presented and the way the presentation is given off. Mental magic tends to be effects that are pretty elementary, require little presentational ability, etc. In contrast to mentalism which is 90-99% presentation and 1-10% manipulation. That's about as good as I can describe it right now.
