Well that depends, what exactly are you trying to achieve? There's a discussion on on ahead predictions in a thread further down the page entitled "Three phase prediction" if any of that helps.

The Xpert can be used with the 'one ahead' principle.

Hope this helps. [I always have wanted to say that]

If your looking for some out of the box "one ahead" ideas, David Regal's Approaching magic book has a few very interesting handlings and concepts. If you enjoy making your own gimmicks to sell the illusion that your writing predictions when you say you are, that book is the way to go.

There is a one ahead chair routine floating around somewhere (I never said test although it does end that way)

:)

Use envelopes, look up Bob Cassidy's work in 4th dimensional telepathy. Luke Jermay's in his 7 Deceptions is a great handling. Simple, direct, and baffling.

Pepper the routine with cold reading. When combining cold reading with the one ahead it makes for what is probably the most powerful performance you can possibly make. There is simply nothing I can think of that is stronger. Yes, it is probably hundreds of years old, but many modern performers still swear by it.

Billet switching, Bert Reese made an entire career off of this. Annemann has some great information on this, as does Corinda.

Pablo Amira has a cool close up one ahead routine, called the Frankenstein experiment, in his ebook Mysteries Anywhere.

The information is out there. I'm a firm believer that studying these, and other such writeups will do much more for you than purchasing the newest gimmicks and such.

Do some research...I'd suggest you start with Corinda and Annemann. Both of their books are very affordable, and absolute gold mines.
