I have no experience on hypnosis but am a bit interested in start learning it. Have discovered several beginner DVD sets in Penguin (e.g. The Trilby Connection, Manchurian Approach). There is something making me worried to start with: most of them mentioned about "scripts". I am not a native speaker, nor people around me. Are those "scripts" also works in other language? or will I be taught on how to do translation to other language for the scripts?

Are the techniques taught in these DVDs equally "workable" in other languages?

Hypnosis is all about ambiance and suggestive patter, (if you are looking to do it in a different language you would have to translate) the easiest thing to do to start with, is research hypnosis make sure it is something you are definitely sure you wish to pursue and then practice the nuances.

There are many a different type of hypnotism, if I am not mistaken there was a none speaking mentalist that used gesture and music to induce his subjects so anything is possible I suppose.
