What do you guys think of Derren's most recent specials? 'Apocolypse' and 'fear and faith'?
His change in character is causing a bit of a stir amongst some mentalists. What do you guys think?

What kind of stir are you talking about? I believe his new specials are absolutely brilliant, given they seem to be more psychologically based. The mentalism of Derren is fun and all, but I have the utmost respect in his ability to disguise psychology as mentalism and vice-versa. He's fun to watch and his new specials are among my favorites. What are your views?

I'm one of the few that enjoy his recent ones as well.

He's going in a completely new direction and I absolutely love it.

If you want his best performances (as far as performing I mean), take a look at his stage shows. They're absolutely brilliant.

That was awesome

The bit there on Deal was kind of silly. But I followed one of the YouTube links and tried watching Apocalypse. It was just another bad "reality" show. The video crashed at 10 minutes and I did not bother to restart it. I saw nothing "mentalist", "magician", in it... just another boring reality show.

The only other thing of his I've seen was Svengali and it was pretty dull too. So maybe he is not for me?

The Deal or No Deal thing is just a joke, of course. Apocalypse isn't meant to be magic or mentalism, but I wouldn't ever put it on the same level as "reality" TV.

If Apocalypse and Svengali are the only things you've ever seen of Derren Brown then you are doing yourself a disservice. Check out his earlier stuff.
