Does any one know anything about this? I am very interested in learninig it, so does anyone know of any books. I heard that Mind Control by David Eldridge is not that great, so does anyone know of any other books?

What is equivoque?
I'm trying to get started in mentalism and card magic so maybe this might be useful to me also.

Peace Out!

pick up Max Maven's Video Mind series, he has at least one effect on each video using the "magicians choice" or equivoque. and if you're just getting started in mentalism, these vids are a great place to start too.

Under the pen name of Phil Goldstein (his former real name), Max Maven wrote a brilliant monograph dedicated fully to equivoque. It's called "Verbal Control," and is probably available from a good used magic book dealer.

You'll find a number of effects using the principle in Lee Earle's "Pieces of My Mind" (reprinted in his much larger book, M.I.N.D.), Annemann's "Practical Mental Magic" (which is really just some of the highlights from the three-volume "Jinx," which is indispensable), and Busch's "Peek Performances."

Joshua Quinn's book ParaLies contains an essay on the correct use of Equivoque that's worth the price of the whole book. It sits alongside Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz as one of the best things I've ever read about magic. I've also heard that Eric Mead devoted large swathes of his book Tangled Web to it, though I can't say first hand if that's to be recommended or not. But definitely look into it.

Also, In my opinion, Equivoque is, when presented properly, one of the best things a magician can learn. It's demoniacally powerful and practical and well worthy of study.

Max Maven has brought out a DVD titled Multiplicity which has lots of discussion on this technique. I have not bought it but am considering it.

youtube has some demonstrations off this DVD.
