I'm seeking something with the power of the Die Cipher II but something less gimmicky. I would never walk up to someone with the DC2 because it cant be anything but something you bought at a magic store. -- DAN

I absolutely agree. That's why, when I do walkaround gigs, I work with objects that make logical sense for me as a performer of mentalism -- my business cards, borrowed coins, playing cards, and ESP cards (which are justified because they are used in "test-conditions" telepathy experiments).

For resources, I suggest first reading Corinda's 13 Steps. When you've absorbed all the material in there, you'll find tons of powerful material in Annemann's Practical Mental Effects, Ted Lesley's Paramiracles, Barrie Richardson's Theater of the Mind, Max Maven's Videomind series, and T.A. Waters' Mind, Myth & Magick.

For individually marketed effects, I recommend mine :) Also, Burger's Thought Sender and Banachek's Psychokinetic Time.

Good luck,
Neil

Enjoyed the Die Cipher but it rattles too much and my bro in law figured it out in about 2 min if that...was disappointed so its for sale now.

Crazy cube is good and cheap.....IMO its better than die cipher 2...

Neil is right, everyday objects are better.....

I'm getting great reactions from Burgers "Thought Sender". It is simple to perform but makes you look like a pro. No one has come close to figuring it out, yet, either. (It's done with bicycle cards)

I love my Kennedy's "Mind Power Deck" also.

Dan, go with neil and get 13 Steps. It's truly a great, great book. You'll learn a lot.

mental magic w/ some mentalism mixed in. EXCELLENT book. I'm not going to describe it as I want it all for myself.
