I was watching a David Blaine special and he told 2 people to think of a card, and then he told them what they were thinking. What DVD/book should I buy that matches this sort of mentalism? I'm looking for what seems like the impossible. thanks!

A little part of this stuff can be down to luck. However, I'd recommend Banachek's Psychological Subtleties book - it's an amazing source of psychological forces and other such effects.

The closest I've ever felt to acheiving real mentalism was when I was heavily practicing Hellstromism... (muscle reading) I swear, the more you do this, the stronger your intuition gets til you can practically read minds... I'd do tests with my brother... I guessed colors that he was thinking of WAY more than what was statistically probable... my belief is that true mentalism can be acheived... you just have to train that part of the mind... I haven't been doing much with it lately... but try out Hellstromism... it's really freaky! and awesome!

PS... the book isnt sold here... I got mine at a famous dealership in Colon, MI

Well, it depends on how much time you have. Some of it is just lists of common forces (ie: if you ask someone to pick a number between 1 and 10 but don't give them any time to think about it they will choose 7 in most cases) that cover numbers, objects etc.

Others are a lot more detailed in principle.

It's not really a case of learning tricks word for word. Don't get this book if that's what you want. This book is more about the principles involved, which should give you ammunition to create your own effects and work it into your own routines.
