I have it on my desk right now. It's from the San Diego Public Library. If you want me to check on any effects, let me know.

i had that book years ago, as a kid. It's awesome. It was the beginning of my learning sleight-of-hand. In fact, a few days ago, after being reminded of it by a thread in The Magic Cafe's forums, i ordered it again. i can't wait till it gets here.

Harry Lorayne's memory books are also outstanding. The techniques in The Memory Book allow you to do *real* magic. For example, i can have someone shuffle a deck of cards and show them to me one by one and then repeat the order to them frontwards and backwards or tell them, say, what the 17th card from the top is. i can remember a list of 12-digit numbers with one recitation. i kid you not. It's powerful stuff.

i also remember Lorayne's hilarious Simon Says routine being something of a staple on ABC's Wide World of Sports in the seventies. He's a brilliant guy and an incomparable performer and educator.

Yeah and he has so many memory books on the market. Very talented magician.

The book is definitely a source document to refer to again and again.
Lots of good effects and sleights.

The Memory Book blew my effing 9-year-old mind. i read it in a week and immediately used it to remember:

The 50 states' capitals, nicknames, official bird, and official flower
All presidents/vice presidents up to the present
Pi calculated to over 300 places

i still remember all of those things; i recently verified.

i'm going to be 40 in less than a year.

Harry Lorayne is a genius.
