Same here will. 1 and 2 are definates. I'd get them for Radar Deck and Breakthrough card system alone.

Osterlind does however show some cool spoon bending techniques in DVD 3. Disk 4 was nothing spectactular. But does have cool effects that you may be able to put to use. The IMP pad is definatly something I may use in my closeup routine.

I don't know if this is an appropriate question, but how does Osterlind's "Breakthrough Card System" card stack compare to Aronson's?

Are many of Osterlind's BCS-related tricks/effects stack dependent, or would they also work with Aronson's?

If this is exposure please delete this post, but can the breakthrough card system be done with a regular deck, or is a gimmick involved (if it is I'm not asking what the gimmick is)?

Any deck of 52 can be prepared for the breakthrough card system.

My sentiments exactly. Volumes 1 and 2 are the best. Osterland has changed me from a "card and coin" guy to now being able to offer a completely different type of show. I think Jim Sisti really adds to the clarity of the explanations as well.

Spoon and spike bending.

Spoon bending is great, because at bars and restaurants, coffee shops, there are spoons around. Great if you're strolling around in either of those venues.

hey wayno! you seem to know alot about this set. this set is at the top of my christmas list and i was wondering if you could answer a few of my questions.

Is the torn and restored newpaper any good? Good Reactions?
How Long does a Radar Deck Take to make? Do you need to buy alot of special stuff for it?
Is the linking finger rings impromptu?
What are your opinions on the Cell Phone Effet and Glass of Water Production?

I've always been a huge fan of the torn and restored newspaper effect. If you've ever seen The Recruit, there's an awesome torn and restored performance in the beginning. That was one of the selling points of that DVD when I bought it.

With Osterlind's, unlike the No Tear Torn and Restored sold here at Penguin, you get to give the newspaper to the spectator when you are done performing it. What could be better than that?

The Radar deck is very simple to set up. There is nothing special needed to make this deck. Most gas stations, supermarkets, convenience stores sell the one thing that you need. May have to hit a couple stores up to get enough of them though as most stores usually don't stock very many at any given time.

It will take you about 10min tops. You most likely already have the materials for this deck sitting in a drawer or box somewhere anyhow. If not, it will cost you at most, $25 to make.

Cell phone effect is insanely simple, and devilishly powerfull.

Glass of water production is more of a stage effect. It's cool, fairly easy to do, but it's not for me personally.

I don't know if I'll ever perform it, but I'm working on a smaller, two or three shots of tequila (for the ladies and myself to enjoy) production modifying his technique so I can do it in a bar with a borrowed, empty purse or something.
