I have a question for anyone who owns this book. When it says "publicity stunts", what specifically do they have. Can you give me examples?
Thanks

In this case the book is referring to stuff you can do to promote an upcoming show or, well, just promote yourself.

Here's the TOC from that section:

Part one:
Introduction
Creating a Demand
Personal Advertising
The Brochure
Headed Paper
The Law of Supply and Demand
Personal Publicity
Visiting Cards
Photographs
Publicity Campaigns
(note: some of the info here is a bit dated - the book was written in the 60s after all - but the principles are still sound)

Part two:
Publicity Stunts
Personal Column Stunt
Bulet Catchnig Stunt
Visiting Card Gimmick
Challenge Seance Stunt
Glorified Muscle Reading
Blindfold Drive and Walk
Radio Prediction
Registered Letter Stunt
Personal Publicity of Halfer
The Haunted House Stunt
Publicity Pencils
Conclusion to Publicity Stunts

When I picked up the book itself I was prepared for that 'oh, well I just farted away $$$' feeling you sometimes get when you shell out for a magic book. 13 Steps really is an encyclopedia for Mentalism. Just about every mentalist effect or trick you see advertised or performed has its roots in material covered in this baby.

For cryin' out loud -- if you're in the Mentalism forum, you should already have this book. Enough "twenty questions" already! :)

Sorry for the rant.

Best,
Neil

No, but it would be an EXCELLENT addition. I am currently reading it, and am loving it. It was a pleasant surprise... Almost every effect I read about I chuckle to myself and think, "What a diabolical scam!" I am particularly impressed with the Mnemonics and Mental systems chapter... I thought it would be a lot of principles that I know about, but these are really good! I love the Chess scams too. :D

Would someone mind recommending where online to purchase this book? You know what I'm looking for: quality service, good prices, etc. Just PM me! Thanks!
