Hi. I'm having trouble deciding which mentalism DVD I should purchase. I'm stuck between Richard Osterlind's Mind Mysteries Volume 1 (The Act) and Ted Lesley's Cabaret Mindreading volume 1.
Could those of you who may own either or both of the DVDs give me your opinion please.
Thank you.

the majority of people will proabably say get osterlind's volume 1. However, Mr. Lesley's effects are just as astounding when given a bit of a flair in presentation. It really is up to your level of thinking. If you are new to menalism/mental magic I would say get neither. You will think the effects are easy but these guys are pros. You going out and doing their effects withouth knowing the basics of mentalism is just asking for trouble. What is your background like?

I've been doing card and close up tricks for a year, and only got into mentalism 3 months ago.

Lesley's routine has some awesome effects. Do not overlook this DVD. And his glass bending is sweet. Combine it with your favorite spoon/spike bend (I recommend Banachek for spoons or Ostlerind for spike, or combine them both to create a really powerfull routine, to add with glass bending)

True, but realize that anyone getting into mentalism today, wether they're 13 or 33, is going to be able to use that effect one day in their repetoire if they stick with magic/mentalism. These DVDs will last a lifetime and their secrets will never become obsolete.
