I do many close-up effects on stage BUT you need to understand the focus is different and you do require a very strong presence with exceptional stage personality to keep it strong as wel as entertaining. The focus when doing a close-up effect on stage is on the participants reactions (facial and body language as well as what they say) and there needs to be more of a commanding personality describing what is going on in order to have the rest of the audience understand what is going on.
