Stage tricks are highly visual, not a "card to top of deck" sort of things. Appearances and vanished of a live human being are amazing. If you produce a dead person... eh, reactions won't be so great, but a living human being always gets 'em.

Personally, some neat stage effects (the first one can also be done close-up) is Bisection. Just attach a curtain to a hula-hoop, and do the effect. Half a body vanishes. Very cool! Re-appear, kick the curtain and gimmick to the side, and you're left clean.
Another one I like would, yeah... have to be a Zombie Ball routine. A good Zombie Ball routine, that is.
