tarbells volume 1-8
jeff mcbride on stage1-3
mark wilsons complete guide on magic
some of andrew maynes stuff

Mark Wilsons stage illusions are for BIG stages. There not for beginner stage magicians.

start off wtih something simple like vanishing/appearign cane or zombie ball. then build some of the tricks in tarbell and wilson's books

Grant's "Victory Carton illusions" will show you how to make several easy illusions from cardboard boxes and it is a very inexpensive manuscript.

dont buy stage illusions. learn them, then build them your self. it is better because the props will fit your style.
