You may want to check out some videos by Tony Clark and I believe Ian Adair has a video on the subject of training doves too.

Hi! Training doves takes patience, hence, TIME. Doves are not the smartest animal on the planet, but they make for a great show. When you say train, what is it that you are wanting them to do? Flyback? or what exactly.

Just spend alot of time with them, take care of them. Treat them as a pet, not a prop and they will return the favor! *smile* I have 12 doves, and only use 8 in my shows. Its a full time venture, but it worth it in the end!

Good Luck on your new travels!

Hello.

Glad to hear you recently got doves.

Anyway, if your looking for training techniques, I suggest you pick up Encyclopedia of Dove magic by Marion Chavez, Tony Clarks Unmasks 1 and 2, as well as Andy Amyx's Doves 101.

I got a dove back in December of 2005. I love her and she loves me back. I am working on training her to fly back to me. I am using the tips in that vLarowy or what ever and jack video on here. I also have her trained to use in the Rabbit mirror box. But you do have to remember that they are a pet and that they should never be thaught of as anything else. As for the kid who is trying to talk his mom into letting you get a dove i have a few tips. I had to do the same thing. Save up the money to get the dove, food, and cage so you can pay for it yourself, second you want to make sure you do everything your mom tells you to including cleaning dishes, your room, whatever, that will show that you are responsible, also if you have a dog offer to take it for it's walks, again to show that you are responsible and that you are good at taking care of pets. I wish you the best of luck. They are a great companion and the audience loves when you produce a dove expecially if they have no clue what is about to happen. Hope this helps
