Flash Stage Appearance

What is a good way to enter or appear on the stage magically?
I am planning on doing a show when I graduate after the actual graduation, from high school. I got my entire stage routine planned out and ready to go, except for the magical entry. I like anything that uses fog or corigraphed lighting and gives off a special effect vibe. I am not graduating until either December 2006 or May 2007 so I have quite a bit of time till then.
If anyone has any ideas of Entry Illusions I would be very glad to hear them.

--I can also build and construct so Illusion Plans would be awesome as well.

be creative and create your own, thats what i'm doing.
one i thought of goes like this.
a giant rag doll is hung by a noose aroung it's neck. fog go's up and when it clears i am hanging from the noose.
im still working on it.

I recommend the 'Flash Appearance Portal.'
Plans for 'Flash Appearance' are sold by Abbott's Magic Co. and probably a few other dealers that sell illusion plans.

It is a fairly easy illusion to build, and uses a flashpot for the 'special effect.'

In effect, the audience sees an empty framework (two narrow side pillars and a decorative cross-arch at the top) on a base. The audience sees through it back to the backdrop. Suddenly there is a flash of flame and puff of smoke and the magician appears standing in the middle of the framework, ready to step forward and start the show.

NOTE: if the site does not allow small pyrotechnics (stage smoke alarms, etc.) replace the flashpot with a photographic flash gun for a 'flash of light' instead of flame and smoke.

Check out Andrew Mayne's "Secret Illusion Show." In it, there is an appearance (it requires an assistant however).

I have a question about the secret illusion show. I want to know if the appearance is just BAM your there,or is there a trap door or cloth involved.
