I am going to be in my school talent show
I'm wondering what tricks would be good that everyone could see
it will be on a stage
I have
1. Change Bag
2.Mirror Box with Doves
3.Joker Tube
4.Hippity Hop Rabbits
5. Appearing Cane

Thats the only big stuff I have
im mainly a close-up magician
it will probably be around 5 min
can somebody please help me with what else i should get for the show and wat to use
thanks

I wouldn't reccomend using live doves at school without permission from your principal.

Appearing Cane would be a good start, then use the mirror box to produce something other than the dove, then use the change bag to vanish that something, or change it into soemthing else. With good patter, or the right music, you should be able to put on a good 3-5 minute routine.

If you're act is going to be about 5 minutes, I think you have enough material. More doesn't mean better. If you have the money, I'd recomend King Monte though. It's about $125 for the 3 cards but its very visual and well worth it.

It sounds like a pretty good routine. It would've been cool if you could've had someone film it so we could watch it, but it's all right.

Nice!! Two things:
1. What is the music?
2. I didn't like how you kept on bending down and fiddling with your props

Overall, great routine!

I liked it, but, as it was already posted, I didn't like how you kept bending over behind that sparkly thing. The music was very annoying to me, but seemed appropriate.

I am not suprised you didnt get first.

You didnt do that good, you said so your self- juggling wasnt good, briefcase didnt work, mic wasnt the best, and you were so nervous you kept fumbling.
I saw many things that needed to be worked on.

Just because you had decent effects, doesnt mean you will win first place.
It takes practice, great presentation, and flow. You had little of each.
You didnt seem to have practiced alot, your presentation lacked, and your flow- there was none.

I could go into more detail..but I dont see the point...

And to degrade the winner, is pretty childish [sore loser].

ok the music was Sandstorm by Darude
I did good t the auditions and practice but that was my firt time in front of that many ppl
and by the way David you dont have to be so rude
you probably just think your the best magician around
but that would be mister Copperfield so shutup

Actually it's known as criticism, and matter-of-factly, I agree with him. He wasn't trying to be rude, just helpful. And what he said is true. The secret to magic is the presentation, not the effect. A magician is not a magician, but an actor playing the part of a magician.

Nervosity--Ok... It was your first performance
Briefcase--Mistakes happen
Juggling--Why did you decide to do juggling if you aren't that good? (Not that I'm better!)

I take back what I said about it being a great routine. It was very good, and I enjoyed it, but there were a few problems.

Hopefully this thread won't be locked soon due to bashing.

Thanks for having read my post!
