I pretty much have my routine down:

Cyril's head drop
Gene Anderson's newspaper tear
Cardiographic

But have you ever seen that "linking rings" trick with your fingers? It's when you "link" your fingers and pretend to unlink it. Kids love it because they know how to do it. Don't know why. I'm deciding to do THIS when I first appear on stage

or

Do David Copperfields Arm twist as an ice breaker

or

Keep Cyril's Head drop because it's a pretty good icebreaker.

What are you thoughts on stage icebreakers?

Hah, i really like the idea of the linking rings.

I'd close with the head drop. Just sounds like that one final thing you could do that would shock the h e l l out of the audience.

Definitely memorable.

I have a feeling David Copperfields Arm Twist will be memorable, I think I might do that. Then maybe the Head Drop in the beginning or the end, can't decide.

I also think doing the arm twisting would be a little hard to see on the stage. Don't you think?

It wasn't a problem for Copperfield, was it? And I'm pretty sure his audience is about as big as it gets.

I'd love head drop as a finale, if i were watching. Jus tthink about your script when deiding the order. For instance, "i'm gonna drop outta here" (that's bad, i know)

But in general, think of what kind of pace and mood you wan tto portray. Make sure that you don't just "perform" tricks, make sure you make it memorable and have a purpose. I'm sure you do and all.

I just had I great idea.

Set up a glass wall, make it obvious or apparent it is a glass wall (not saying you should hide it, or even could). Have it in front of the stage, put your arm up palm on glass, and do the arm twisting illusion. They'll see the hand and arm twist, I think it could be done for just $5 for a sheet of crappy fibreglass.

I know realize it's not as great as I thought, but it could be killer. It would also make the effect very viewable for all in the back.

I don't think you should do the arm twist IF people are far away from the stage.

I don't think it's going to be a problem. The auditiorium holds about 200-300 people max (just a number off the top of my head)

I think they'll see just fine..

I think I'm going to take out the arm twist....

I'm gonna walk on stage (with sunglasses) and a jacket (for Cryil's head drop, later in the show) and perform my Gene Anderson's Torn and Restored Newspaper

Then I'm going to do Cardiographic, ending with Cryil's Head drop.
