I'm not usually into stage magic. (I do cards and coins mostly) But my school has a talent show coming up and I was wondering if there were any effects that are not super expensive, and don't require a plant. I was thinking of the effect in RRTCM called the "Egyptian Pocket" But Im not sure.

Clutch works well on stage. Ropes are good for stage. Or maybe get a stage size invisible deck. My motto is pack small play big.

Try a bill to Kiwi or lemon. They play big. Or anything with a prediction.

Clutch is good, as is a decently long Cups and Balls routine. However, if you do use Clutch, be sure that this is not the only thing you do. It really isn't quite long enough. Then again, it depends on the maximum time allotted. 8)

Hi there. I actually have run into a similar predicament. A talent show is coming up in about two months at my school and I'm dying to do magic, but I don't know what to do. Unfortunately each act has a five minute time limit, and I cannot bring up an audience volunteer, making Bill in Kiwi/Lemon impossible. The audience will be very large, and I feel that the sheer distance of some of the seats would make certain effects, like Clutch, less effective. I'm willing to spend money up to around $150.00. I was considering buying plans for and constructing a sub trunk for Houdini's Metamorphosis. What are your thoughts? And any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It works GREAT!

Just a note. You want to throw the deck to five different "groups" of students. Don't give it to one person and then there best friend.

I'm so sorry to hear that! Did you accidentally use knives instead of cards?!?

Haha, I love magic hyperbole! :D
