Okay so I am aware of lighting behind the line and using broken up backdrops(brick wall for instance) I have also heard that misting the stage prior to an effect using fishing line helps. What I would like to know is what types of line work best overall(least reflective) and how heavy a line can I get away with on stage. Also, is it possible to spray paint a dull grey finish on a line to help reduce the reflection?

Thanks,

paint it matte black...It shouldn't take too thick of a fishing line for whatever it is you are trying to do....6 pound test is pretty small and it holds up really well...

The lighting is critical. Use the thinnest line that will support your task. I had an opening effect last year using a power reel that had a silk flying out over the audience. It took us a long time to get the lighting right.

What you need is a good amount of setup time to check light. Every venue will be a little different.

Good Luck

Thanks for the tips guys. Does anyone have a brand reccomendation? I've heard that some are less reflective than others.
