Hey,
I'm wondering if it is possible to create a trick for a stage show and be able to sell it online with an instructional video and booklet.
I've already come up with several ideas for a mentalist show and it would be versions of what other mentalists and illusionists have done before.
Not necessarily am i stealing the trick and selling it for profit, but more on the line of coming up with my method of the illusion and explaining what i have experimented with.
I would really be interested in making instructional videos and how to make several props.

The point is, is i would be uncomfortable putting it for sale online if i might be breaking any copyright laws. I have found no information on the name of the tricks or methods i would use to perform it. All i know is that i have seen other performers use these tricks.

Hope someone could at least give me an OK or not.

talk to the people who have created the original effects and ask them if it's okay for you to make videos to sell that explain your application for the prop or whatever....

that's the best thing you can do. If they say "no"...don't do it.
