I have been of lately trying to get a deffinate answer to the question of using music on tapes or cd's as background music for magic shows. I figure this is the forum for this discussion. I have other posts about this subject in the general section.

The people I have contacted are not in agreement if using someone elses music (famous groups or singers) violates copyright laws. I still have my feelers out and will keep you up to date.

Also, if you need music, let me know. I majored in music and can write music for you. It won't cost you anything. Just let me know what illusion you want music to and how you will performe it (slow, fast, scarey etc...) along with the approx. time in minutes will be needed.

well, my friend and i do a magic and juggling show, and for the parts of our show we use music to, i pulled the songs off of the internet and none of them are american songs, and off of video game soundtracks.

wow.. just saw your post about making music for others. That's very generous of you. I was wondering if you can make me a quick one. I'm going to be performing D'Lite at my church. Gonna be a quick presentation.. about 3 mins or so. Also, i'm new to stage magic (usually a street magician) so i don't know what type of music it should be accompanied with. I guess something mysterious because the lights are going to be dim in order for the audience to see the trick. Thanks a lot!! oh and i'm going to be performing this in 2 weeks.

Hi, you were very generous to compose for people. i'm new to stage magic and my mum wants me to perform for her child care center. i still am just planning it. it will be my 1st time performing officially. the oldest childern there is 6. and i'm thinking of probably doing the peabut butter and jelly illusion, fearsons floating 'candy', maybe a levetation, maybe healed and sealed. i'm really not sure what else i can do.. i was just wondering if you have any ideas, seeing that you are a professional. and also what kind of soundtrack i should use ? if any at all. thanks a lot. i really appreciate it. i'm open to suggestions from everyone.
