Ok I have done some small stage shows (20-40 people) but I have the chance to do a show for between 300-500 people  I ran into a local Pastor and mentioned I was a magician. One thing led to another and he wants me to perform a Gospel Magic show for their annual Easter Egg hunt, which draws lots and lots of kids. Guess his wife was in charge of some entertainment and was not sure what to do.
I dont' care if I get paid, just the exposure and the chance to perform in that venue is enough for me. AMEN
Well better get working on my routine for it. Will follow up on this thread.

I am guessing it is going to be outside. If so, be sure to have help keeping the kids away from your stuff. Also be sure to have a good sound system.
Good luck and have lots of fun!!!

I did a show outside in a park last fall. About 90 people. Sound is important. Good Tip Bruce. The problem I had the most trouble with was the wind. Yuck. If it is outside. Have some contingencies in case it is windy.

I don't believe it will be outside for 2 reasons #1 The weather here in the Pacific Northwest does not get nice until June! #2 They have a pretty big sanctuary, now whether there are 500 people (that is what the Pastor said) I kinda doubt it. 200 yes, but I think 500 would be pushing it. Will post updates thru this thread.

A little update, I talked with the Pastor on Monday, he said they usually have 300 or more attend this annual Easter Egg Hunt. The show will be inside but he only has time for like a 20 minute Gospel presentation with magic since other songs/skits are scheduled. So I only plan on doing 3 or 4 effects:
(Please don't get offended by my description of effects)

 20th Century Silks-Seperation of God and Man thru sin

 Cut and Restored Rope with pop off knots-Show how going to church, giving, being good does not get you into heaven. (3 knots)

 Soft Soap-Atonement of Sin thru Jesus

 Change Bag-Represents Tomb using black and white and colored Jesus silks to represent the Resurrection.

I think that will take about 20 minutes with patter, verses etc. Just wish I had more time as I would of like to have done some non-gospel also(Hippity Hop Rabbits etc)
Will post here Saturday Night after the performance.

Have fun chief! I did a religious presentation with card to cieling the other day. I used a story along the lines that the cards were prayers and even though our sins (marker) may damage us, God still accepts our prayers.

I first off want to thank all of you who chimed in your support, I appreciate that. :D
The show went fantastic, even though it was only 20 minutes. There must of been around 250 people packed into this church and it was warm! I just wish I would have had more time, but with a bunch of little kids (mostly) I can understand since the Pastor had some other things. Oh and after I was given a nice check! Something I was not expecting, not bad pay for 20 minutes but to me at this time of the year (Easter) the message was more important than pay or anything else. Again thanks all 8)
