dont do the show of hands part. seriously streetmagicrocks do you have any stage experience? If you don't, please stop advising people. Engage with your audience and go out and talk with people. then cordially ask for someone to join you on stage...a lady (she does not have to be hot). If you are sincere and genuine about it, you will have no problem getting a volunteer. For more on this see Ken Weber's book, Maximum Entertainment.

Ther are usually plenty of people willing to hop on stage, especially if everyone is having fun. We can't really write your patter for you, but you don't have to say anything elaborate, complicated, or exceptionally interesting: "alright, now I need some help from the audience." And take it from there.
