ok for this play i am in i was asked to do some magic! however, i mostley do close-up. WHat would be some good stage tricks that i could do? (since the rule is still being used, if you want to mention other tricks, just PM me)

and i was going to do dove pan, double color changing scarves, and magic coloring book, but i want to do bigger scale stuff. You know, more challenging

I hope you have some money stashed away, illusions cost thousands and thousands of dollars. There is one effect utilizing a sabre saw, you cut someone in half type effect, only they don't really get cut, it runs about $300. A mailbag escape runs around $70-$100.
Unless you have the cash, I would stick to more standard stage magic. I am moving this to stage in hopes you get some better responses.

Try linking rings. They will take a long time to master. If you have it try the Zombie, Manderin Mirror Box, Square Circle Deception or Cut and restored rope. D'lites are pretty cool if they don't know it.

Well, to build a big illusion you first need the secret. Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic has a couple stage illusions. Most of them don't require construction but, some do.

How much of a craftsman are you?
