If you want to find more about Fred Kaps there is a memorial DVD that is being sold exclusively from a European site dedicated to propagating the memory of the great Dutch performer . With the conversion from U.S. dollars to Euros it will cost you around $60.00 , which might seem high , but it is the most complete collection of footage of this great magician, Fred Kaps . He is well worth studying. The little clip I posted above is just a small indication of how stunningly beautiful his full act was .

It's very short (and unfortunately silent) , but fascinating clip of Kaps' "smoking thumb" routine, where he gathers invisible tobacco from the air and places it bit by bit into his empty hand , then proceeds to smoke it , using his thumb and hand like pipe . The smoke visibly appears as he puffs his thumb. It's a bizarre little piece of magic.
