I am working on a show for next year's talent show at school and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestion on which music to put in my show. I was planning on first doing the Curious Cabinet Caper ( the assistants will make me appear ) on the song " O Fortuna " Then I would continue with appearing candle and the rest I haven't decided yet. So If you guys have any good music suggestion please let me know

The best one is Deese Des Tambours. It's the they used in Gerry Griffins Card Sleights DVDs.

I'm afraid that this is not the type of music I'm looking for...I'm more looking for fast and rock music...I dont really mind if there are words...

I would use rand woodubry's music. He has them on Cds and they are copyright free so you won't get in trouble with it.

"Free Bird" by lynard skynard is fast rock (atleast in the guitar solo), I think techno is good for magic though, although it depends on what type of tricks you plan to do. "dream of trance" by Paul Oakenfold or "airwave" by Rank 1 might do the trick :P .

My main suggestion is to use music that YOU LIKE, not just music that fits the trick. Eventhough the music mmight be fast, mysterious or whatever, if you do not like it, you may not perform to it as best you can.

I have had concerns and many posts on the copyright issues of using music as background in a show. I have written all the places people suggest and the responces vary from yes you need permission and no you don't along with their reasoning.

If you have concerns, drop a line to the company that produced the music.
Good luck!

Be aware of copyright violations. Magicians have been sued.

I agree with BBunnell, but here's some of the music I use anyways:

-mission impossible them
-top gun them
-(proudly I played) "Game Over" by lil flip, at the end of a talent show that I knew I one when I disappeared off the stage and reappeared in the back of the audience.
