I am interested in studing the innerworkings of large scale illusions. I have seen a ton of books out there but I am not sure where to start. If anyone could help, that would be great! 8)

Your best bet is to do a search for Illusions or Magic Illusions on Google and go from there. There are many sites with not only books, but plans, history etc. Just got to do a little research on the subject. Osborne I believe is one place that deals with illusions. Mostly that is what you are going to get though, books, or plans. Not many videos or DVD's out there for this genre.

if you know how to do it, build a subtitution trunk. did and it works great! my audiences love it. Try to make that one and go from there. Hope that helps.
