Have any of you guys checked out that new Japanese horror film called "Gurotesuku" ("Grotesque" in English). It's been said that it is so violent that it can cause "serious psychological damage" for audiences. It's been banned in the UK (a very rare thing). The eerie tagline is:

"'Saw' and 'Hostel' were just appetisers. Welcome to a Japanese nightmare."

I have to admit that reading that tagline actually creeped me out slightly. I watched the trailer for it and it looks completely revolting. It's actually really violent and graphic which makes it so much more disturbing. I won't post it here because Penguin would probably take it down (yeah, it's that graphic). I kind of want to see it just because I'm interested in what it's like, but only really twisted people would actually sit down and watch it.

Here's the DVD cover/poster:

^ I was interested too, but after watching the trailer, and reading some reviews, I'm very put off. I love bloody horror flicks, but this movie is barely a movie. It's watching people be tortured, without suspense, without a plot, and without much of anything.

This is the first movie that I'm actually disgusted by. No meaning to this movie, besides to be as graphic as possible. The only reason I'd watch it is to see if I could sit through it without wanting to gag or turn it off. We have to draw the line somewhere between entertainment, and being entirely tasteless and sick. I think I'll stay away.

Violence and grotesque and graphic stuff isnt what makes a a film a great horror. Thats a different gerne apon itself. There is a limit to keeping it in the horror group. But people now and days think thats all that a horror is.... :?
I would like to see more mind game, twists, and such. Blood and gore is fun, but not required.

This movie is way over done.

Who else wants to see the Nightmare On Elm Street remake in 2010? How about Halloween 2? The next 3D Final Destination?
I haven't seen the original Nightmare on Elm Street films, but they're Wes Craven, so i probably will like them, and since he's also doing the remake, I think I'll like it. (uncleverly titled) The Final Destination looks bad, in my opinion, and showing just about all of the deaths in the trailer doesn't help...but since it's a Final Destination movie, I will probably see it. And I haven't yet seen Halloween, but once I get around to it, I'll make up my mind about H2...

I just rented and watched the Last House On The Left remake for the third time... what an excellent remake, seriously. I also rented The Devil's Rejects which I thought was great as well.

Anyone here see Orphan? I thought it was quite brilliant... thoughts?

I want to see Orphan soooooooooooooo bad!!!!!

Finished watching Captivity, it was a barrel of monkeys (meaning it was excellent)...I definitely recommend it.

I'm making a personal Top 50 Worst and Best horror movies list...once I finish, I will post it...

The worst horror movie I've ever seen was "Anatomy"

Here is the poster -

I watched [i]Orphan[i] last night. I enjoyed it. Not the most orginal movie ever, no, but it was good, and had a very funny sex scene in it, as well as a very funny aftermath of such sex scene...anyway, I liked it.
