Is it me or are VERY few horror movies coming out this year? I don't count remakes, I'm looking for some original ideas here! Man.

On the other hand, I did see that "Let Me In" is coming out this year. It is an American remake of "Let The Right One In."

See the original. Please. It's amazing.

Well, if you're not counting remakes, then yes, the number is significantly less. So yes, it is just you, because you are the one not counting remakes.
But there's still a decent amount that came out or are coming out:
SAW 3D
After.Life
Survival of the Dead
The Last Exorcism
Devil
Let Me In
Paranormal Activity 2
My Soul to Take (I'm really looking forward to this.)
Season of the Witch (not sure about Nicolas Cage being in this one.)
Total: 9
(If you include remakes, again, it's a decent amount more.)

Also, if I never mentioned it before, The Collector was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Remakes or not I am actually seeing a lot less horror movie advertisements. It's probably just because there hasn't been any horror movie for a while I just HAD to see and actualy payed attention to the trailers.

Ah well, I don't watch TV, so I wouldn't really know...All I do know is, I'm really looking forward to SAW 3D, My Soul to Take, and Scream 4 (though it's not coming out until April 2011, I'm a huge Wes Craven fan.)

Well it doesn't come out until October so I'm not sure who, other than people actually involved with making the film, is making that call, but we'll see. I love the Swedish film so I'm doing my best to reserve judgement until I see the American version.

I AM looking forward to SAW 3D. People are always saying that they should have stopped at the second one, but I have loved them all, and I expect no different from this one.

I saw the trailer for devil, I don't know how much faith I have in M. Night but I might give this one a shot.

Lol, I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World yesterday and they showed a trailer for Devil...when it showed "M. Night Shyamalan" the whole theater was like "aww", it was hilarious. I actually thought it looked pretty good, though. And I've gained a bit more respect for him from The Last Airbender.

When I saw Inception and the trailer appeared everyone just laughed when they saw who it was by.

Just finished watching Child's Play. I never saw the whole thing until now. I liked it, funny, interesting story...not scary in the least, but good effects for its time.

I'm about to start watching Critters.

Note: The reason I'm marking the movie titles in bold is for reference in the future.

Update:
I finished Critters. It was bad...I mean, it wasn't the worst movie ever, but it wasn't the most exciting movie. It was funny and worth the watch though.
Lol, I didn't even realize I said the same thing twice...

Update:
I watched Jennifer's Body. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I enjoyed it. It was still a fairly stupid plot, but it was enjoyable.

Update: (Theater)
I just got back from Piranha 3D. It has to be the movie of the year. Absolutely spectacular! Lol, but in all honesty, for the type of movie it was (a campy, crappy, lake of fear, killer animal, type movie) it was actually pretty good. Decent plot, and decent acting. Yes, it was stupid, and yes, it was just an excuse to get some tits and some ridiculous gore on the big screen, but it wasn't half bad.

Update: (Theater)
I saw The Last Exorcism yesterday, it was excellent, I definitely want to own it.

Update:
I watched Dead Alive and Paranormal Activity.
Dead Alive was an excellent mess of gore and disgusting zombie action. Paranormal Activity was a boring movie with bad acting and an awful story. Nothing about it seemed real at any point. It was a bit entertaining, but I would have been wanting my money back if I had to pay to see it.

Well, I haven't resurrected this thread in a while...so, let me get to it then.

Since last time, I have seen: (If I accidentally repeat some I've already said, it's by mistake)

My Soul to Take
It was terrible. One of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. The characters weren't very developed, the plot wasn't good. Overall, it was worth the watch, but it really wasn't good, not worth owning, and not worth paying for.
After.Life (Was very good/interesting)
SAW 3D (Was a horrible finale to the series, and wasn't very good.)
Let Me In (Was pretty good)
Piranha 3D (Good in the really bad sort of way)

And most recently, I saw
The Rite
Although it wasn't really a horror movie, at least not in my opinion, it was quite good. A different sort of exorcism movie. The ending, unfortunately, was predictable. Not in a bad way, I just think I would have liked it to be less obvious.

I also have the following movies in line to watch soon, so I'll update once I watch them:
-Splice
-The Crazies
+whatever else...

A great one I recently saw was The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Scariest movie I've ever seen.
