I was going to ask the same question soon Akira! Vistaprint is really cheap right now, but I'd like a good value and some good service.

I used vista print on mine, i had no problems. Great quality and good value. I did double sided, one side gloss. JPEG image on front, font on back.

I used this image http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7ScKrrEA0fY/S ... inting.jpg

And it came out great.

I like www.uvcards.com

They are quick and helped me with my photoshop files. My cards are silk laminated so they feel REALLY nice and have a purple foil on them so they shine :)

HATE Photoshop. I use GIMP for free and get all of the same features with a more user friendly interface. But seriously, anything business you are 120% on top of!

The problem with printing your own is that people can tell because the card stock is thin. Its comes across as very cheap.

I reccommend (only if you are in the USA) www.overnightprints.com request a sample, you'll see they are one of the best printers out there.

That is not ALWAYS true, as I have been VERY pleasantly surprised by some magicians before.

But I have been surprised by MOO. I got some samples and they were AMAZING.

People make judgements about your services at the first point of contact. Whether the first point of contact is on the phone, in person, your website, or your business card, you should always make an impression. The reason so many entertainers don't make money is because they don't look like they should be given any money.

A business card is not the final say so in whether they think you are top notch or not but it is a collection of the little details that give off a great impression. Business cards are those tiny details and should not be ignored.

Doc Eason has a horrible business card. I'm sure he prints them on his own. However, Doc makes a great living off magic. The reason he can have a horrible business card is because he performs at high profile events and if you are at these events then you have already "made it." The fact that his business card sucks is negated by the fact that he is performing at a huge corporate event. So everyone who asks him for a card will know that he charges a lot and is a pro regardless of his card.

On the other hand, if Doc Eason gave his business card to someone who has not see him perform then he would be perceived as an amateur compared to someone who has a plastic foil stamp business card made professionally.

Always make the best first impression possible.

Thanks Benji, that's exactly what I have been saying, except about Doc Eason's card (I didn't know that.) That is why I have my cards printed at the local print shop and my prices are higher than average for my area. First impressions!! The card is high quality and people assume higher price means high quality. As in our performances, sales in all presentation.

It's a christian company that specializes in printing custom gospel tracts for Christians, but they also do custom business cards, posters, car stickers, etc. Very very high quality! Worth the price. It's cheaper in bulk. By the way, where do live?

I just got my cards printed.

You pretty much want these as your minimum

350 - 400gsm Stock (nice, not as thick as 500, sturdy and won't hold a crimp or tear easily)
Full side colours (possibly both sides)

additionally you want a some UV ink, Foiling or Embossing. It will allow your card to stand out from all the others. Something with impact.

Also last time I checked Vistaprint has pretty [edited] stock, check a local printer in the phone book.
