1457 hrs EST (2:57pm in the East for those who don't know) it just came on the news that in Gardena (L.A. area) CA 3 student got shot by another student. 1 in the face and the other 2 not mentioned. The student who did the shooting is in custody. The principal said "a student had a gun in his backpace, dropped it and it went off accidentally." Yea Sure, the police see 3 shots go off a lot of dropped guns NOT! Happened at 1341 EST

Well, initial reports were different from what is being said now. And the police spokespeople appear to be saying two different things.

Police say one bullet was apparently fired accidentally hitting a 15-year-old boy in the neck and a 15-year-old girl in the head.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Unified School District reportedly told local news outlets that the shooting was accidental. District spokesman Robert Alaniz said the gun was brought to school in a backpack and went off when the student dropped it -- injuring the two victims with a single bullet.

Law enforcement officials, however, say they are skeptical of that account and say the shooting is currently under investigation.

Why are all you guys in a hoopla over this?
It's not like this is the first time this has ever happened. Actually, it's not even the first time this year.

ElC, that's the point of the post. This is happening all too often. As far as the 2nd amendment goes, you don't have that in Germany but we (who are legally) in the U.S. do have a right to own and bear (carry) arms which can not be taken away from us.
