hey i just got an email and tons of forwards of AIM and MSN that kazaa and all other clients are busted!! my friend heard it on the radio to so delete everything!! does anybody know of something that i can use so they cant track me for sharing music??

just put all the files in a separate folder and delete them from kazaa.

I work for an ISP troubleshooting internet connection for 32 states. We have been issued a subpoena by the court on behalf of RIAA to turn over account info of people using programs to share copy written material over the internet. The only thing you can do if you have not yet been caught is to cancel your subscription, remove the software, and I would say to move the files to another folder so they are not shown as an associated file with Kazaa or whatever program you were using to share your music.

It's pretty much what is on your computer that you don't rightfully own.

From what I have heard when someone DL's from you they can find you, trce your IP I guess. I just don't share anything and I should be ok........maybe.........

If you have downloaded, or shared files, your isp can track it. The only people we are passing by are the ones who not only removed it from their machine, but who also unsubscribed. We cannot see that someone has actually unsubscribed, but we get a list of IP addresses from the Kazaa server that came from our IP pool, and the records from Kazaa show weather or not the person has unsubscribed.

Kazaa is not subscription based, what do you mean?

Im sorry, you are correct that Kazaa is not, but there are many out there that are for example morphious.

They are also looking at illegal movie sharing which has been done in newsgroups, as well as morphious.

Actually using Kazaa to download music isnt illegal. Youre allowed. BUT you have to stop sharing all your files because allowing peoplre to upload FROM your computer is illegal.
