An observation: I've noticed a lot of new people coming to Penguin lately. I check the "Who's Online" list quite often and I've been seeing lots of new names popping up. I've also noticed a lot of first time posters and posters with very low post counts. Anyone else notice this?

LOL Have I noticed it?? Most definitely, especially from the number of topics I have to move to the correct forums, the asking for exposure I have deleted etc. If they would only read the rules of the forums BEFORE posting. Instead of crying, "My post on (insert here) is gone, what happened?"
It is good to see new people but hate to see a lot of people leaving.

I have also noticed this. I hope some of them add more than the same old questions that could be searched for.

I also find it curious that all of the suddon the flame wars just stopped. I mean, not calm down, but stopped, while simultaneously about 6 people stopped posting,(coincidence, I'm not sure). But, while it has been peaceful, there hasn't been really a lot of "meaty" stuff posted. I guess I need to step up my program so I can add posts with substance soon. Has any one else noticed this coincidence?

Yeah, I've noticed this "coincidence" too! Seems that things have got better around here just in the past few days when only a handful of people announced their departure or stopped posting. Like you said...coincidence?

A lot of people just lurk around and read posts. They don't actually share their opinions.

Yes, that's already evident judging by the ratio of replies/views.
