I've had a computer for 2 years,my first one.Do u guys turn it off everyday or like me leave it on 24hrs a day.The only time a light bulb fails is on and off switching. yes I do turn lights off and on but they are cheaper than a new computer....

My computer at work is on 24/7, but it has a screensaver and the monitor eventually goes to sleep if its not being used ... my computer at home I normally turn off when I'm done with it.

We have 2 systems...both are left on 24/7, with screensavers and auto shut down power saving monitors.

Work PC gets turned off every night when I leave.

Roomie's PC at home is usually running 24/7 unless it starts acting up, then do a shut down and restart. 8)

I use to work at a place where you would get fired if you turned off a computer. Our place had hundreds of computers and all were left on 24/7.
All systems had a reduntant computer and therefore could be turned off only under controlled situations for maintenance.Of course we had a big UPS and diesel engines that enabled us to run all "critical" systems for 2 weeks if we ever lost power for that long.(never happened) I worked there for 25 years so thats why I asked you guys if you left your home computer(s) on 24/7...That is why mine stays on,I have an small UPS for computer that gets through brownouts and short duration "hits" or spikes.
Of course I have my monitor auto shut down after 5mins therefore no need for screensavers..
