I've heard a lot about and seen a lot about them on all the anime sites i go to but i've never really paid attention to them. What kind of anime is it? I like the action anime and manga stuff with good plots. You could tell that I like RK by the avatar but i like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, Naruto, the Shaman King manga more than the anime, Hikaru no Go and other stuff also. I haven't really read any shojo mango except the first volume of Kare Kano and Fushigi Yuugi. But i've heard that Chobits and Love Hima are good.
