How come people like Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John and etc.. when tehy sing it sounds just like any one else would singing. They dont have that British accent. Same for Blink 182, they are from ireland or something, but when they sing it sound american. Why is that?

no clue...when people sing, it's like they're a whole other person. I have heard that stutterers don't stutter whn they're singing.

its true. One great example is David Gray. He sounds so freakin english when he talks, yet when he sings, he sounds like, umm.. lets say Dave Matthews. Cowboy is right, when you sing, you sound a lot different than when you talk. same goes for me, i have a semi low talking voice, yet i sing tenor. Its just another quirk of the human being.

yea,its wierd, ivegot a pretty strong scottish accent (or so alotof americans and canadians say) but i dont think its that strong

anyway, the pointis that i dont sound scottish at all when i sing

Ok, i did singing lessons and this is what they told me. You do not sing with an accent because when you speak, it is coming from ur voicebox. When you sing, you sing from ur Diafram so you are not singing from ur throat. That is why there is no "vibration" when you sing. Mike

Lol. I dont know if Mark and Tom (from Blink) have any irish background or anything, but they dont have an accent. At all. When they tlak normal they dont have one etiehr. They are American.

Have any of you heard of Sophie Ellis Bexter lol (you'll know why i said lol if you know her, her music isnt the best)

She's the only person i can think of who sings with an accent, its a huge english one. she probly does it on purpose

Just a weird story:
My french teacher told me that when she visited France, she went to some sort of dinner and they had a band. They band sang all American songs in perfect English. When she went up later to talk to them, they didn't understand one word of English. They'd just memorized the songs and had no idea what they were singing.

Thats true. I stutter occasionally. There is nothing more weird feeling than wanting to say something and for somereason not being able to. You have to take a breathe, relax, and concentrate. But I don't stuttter when I sing. And I lose my accent.
