this is deriko again, i was wondering, is escapology realy worth it, unless you r going to take it serious enough to straight jackets and milk cans, do you realy get good effects from wriggling out of ropes and handcuffs, or should i keep on levitating, metalbending, reading minds, and using cards you dont have to reply urgently, just wondering

Why not do a little bit of everything in what you perform?

Seems to be working fine for Criss Angel.

And yes, I think you can, with the proper showmanship, do escapes that are entertaining without the milk cans and straitjackets, both of which IMHO have been done to death anyway.

And maybe you will get into it enough and realy enjoy it , and will expand as i did. I started with a basic set of quick release shackels and now i am doing large scale escapes and performing for fund raisers and more. I never expected to get into it this much, and now i am even creating my own effects. Give it a try.

Stick with it, you will do ok if you do. I just recently got into escapes myself and I have had good success so far. I do some little stuff with thumbcuffs and the Siberian chain escape and some rope stuff that I learned from a book I got. Best of luck. Sam

It actually depends on if YOU feel it is worth it.
I do magic, mentalism, bizarrism AND escapes.
I started with escapes at 13 and now, at 48, still consider escapology well worth it, having used it for public demos, private shows and busking.
