I've been called that many times. LOL. This is one of my VERY milder stunts. I've also done barrel escapes, water tank escapes, jail cell escapes, and am scheduled to do a bullet catch next Spring. I'm pretty much taking the rest of the year off to work on that one.

If you buy a straight jacket, do you get instructions in it, telling you how to escape?

I agree...you usually don't get instructions. However the methods of getting out of one are all similar. My jacket was custom made, so nothing came with it.

If you buy ANY escape item, does it tell you how to escape it?

Depends on what it is. Most escape 'effects' come with instructions.
Escape 'staples' (ungimmicked straitjackets; handcuffs; etc.) don't. The dealer assumes you know the techniques.
If in doubt, ask the dealer before you buy.

Mailbagscome with instrctions. But only for the gimmicked bars. He's right...you should have SOME knowledge of an escape or stunt before you attempt it....especially in PUBLIC!!

Yeah....I quit doing shows for the rest of this year. I'm working on my Bullet Catch for next Spring. I didn't know my website was down. I guess my agent told the webmaster I wasn't doing any more shows this year, and he took it down. It will be back up eventually.

Nice escape , BUT there are NO World Records any where for escaping from home made or custom straight jackets !!!!! You should fix that on your web page because it is incorrect..............

The Dork Master

This is true. However, I believe my site reports that it is an "unofficial" record. Additionally, it would do no good to attempt this stunt, even WITH a Posey jacket, which is the ONLY jacket that would qualify for a record, because Guiness no longer will recognize these types of stunts due to the cautionary level. This came straight from Guiness to me. They stopped recognizing these types of stunts in 2005.
