How old are you, and how long have you been practicing escapes?
Your mindset on this sounds typical of a beginner, and understandable from that perspective.
To help get you on the right track, I need to mention two things:
1) Escapology, like other forms of mystery entertainment, is not about speed; it's about entertainment. 'Fast' means nothing if the audience is not 'involved' and entertained. What you need to worry about is presentation and showmanship.
Some escapes have the best impact if done quickly; others go over better when 'dragged out' for dramatic effect. It depends on the escape.
2) 'Handcuffs' comprise many, many makes and models (modern and older, from various countries). I don't know which type you're using, but a likely guess is a Taiwan-made copy of the Japanese Takeda cuff.
Never think mastering one handcuff equips you for others; thinking so could result in unpleasant trouble down the road.
I always recommend that beginners check out the website for Cannon's Great Escapes.
Good luck.
