Ok so I just purchased Escapeology by Dooley Dixie. Hopefully that is a good place to start for escapes. I think for my first stunt I will try an underwater straight jacket escape!! I'm browsing straight jackets now! Wish me luck!
















Hopefully it was painfull obvious but I am kidding. But in all seriousness what sort of objects might I need to get before hand? Rope, Handcuffs,etc.? I have lots of Parachute or 550 cord( I'm a scout ) or will that not work? So any advice or tips yall would care to share would be welcome and as I said are there any materials I can pick up beforehand?

Escapology can be expensive i'd advise starting with ropes and some Handcuffs since you can get those for under $50
I Personally LOVE escaping from my regulation strait jacket... it's fun beyond words.
I think after some basics just go for whatever is to your taste - Mail bag escape, Coffin escape (coffin may be expensive :/ ), milk can escapes, the all time classic Metamorphosis (or subtrunk, better to build one for like $100 than spend $1000's buying but expect to also buy the additional props required). I've never found a steel strait like the one in Dixie Dooley's set... could also be cool...
Maybe MichalAngelo can help you if he has the time, he is a professional escape artist and holds the world record for the underwater strait escape...

cheap thumbcuffs... (just kidding those are terrible ), elastic band escapes (yawn )...

I don't recommend the Under Water Straijacket Escape for a beginner. There are lots of things that can go wrong, and they WILL. As Sebishungry said, I hold the World Record for the Under Water Escape. In fact, I'm the first one on record in the United States to attempt it.

If you work your way up to the escape, I wish you the best of luck. Maybe you can break my record.
