hi all , check your bank statements, my bank is charging me a fee every time i place an order on penguin because its in dollars , also the exchange rate there giving me is only $1.50 to the pound, the fee there charging me is about a pound every time no matter how small the order. anyone else?????????
penguin when are you gonna treat your british customers to a british service ie, who wants gaffed coins to be in $$?? do you sell many of these???
p.s get some bloody stock for christs sake

Are you ordering from the UK site or the US. If it's the latter, it's your fault, not theirs.

In what way? Like I said, there's a good chance it's not their fault. Other than that, read the new blog. They are making strides to get back on top.

orders from the european store are charged in dollars (not pounds or euros)

I personally don't mind as the exchange rate makes it relatively cheap to order from penguin. and the bank charge is minimal. Now, if penguin would only stock up the european store....

Yup even with the exchange its still cheaper than loadz of places.....and yep 4th month oof waiting for spider pen.....and yup 2 months waiting for pyro maniac...come on penguin!!

Why is your bank charging you a fee? Are you paying by cheque or money order?

If you use a credit card or Paypal, I think you should be able to avoid that charge.

I do find it strange that Penguin.co.UK is charging prices in USD.

Balducci,

european banks suck. before the euro they used to charge exchange fees. after the euro, they charge "out of country" fees because "the banks use another system".

some banks even charge per "transaction". for example, if I deposit a check, I pay 1.50 €. direct wire doesn't cost anything. my wife pays after 30 transactions. go figure.

im using my debit card , using my own money , i cant see any reason for charging me either. my point was why cant penguin just charge us in our own currency , sterling for the uk and euros foe the rest of europe after all they have a warehouse in the uk now.

check your credit card statement too.

credit card companies often charge a percentage when the purchase is made in another currency

Stop buying from that site is the answer. Buy from the US site.
