I tried showing my four year old neighbor some card tricks, but he was really confused. I did some tricks with a TT, but i dont have any other tricks that would understand. What do you guys think would impress a little four year old?

My young niece loves spongeballs and multiplying rabbits. She also loves anything that you can put into her hands and let the magic happen--- like Scotch and Soda.

Hilarious story though -- my husband did show my young niece Card Warp. Its visual enough that she got it. Afterwards he never gave it another thought --- until his brother called to express his "thanks". He came home from work one night to find his young daughter had gotten into his WPT set and had "ripped" all the cards just like her Uncle trying to make "magic". Good thing my brother in law has a sense of humor and we've all had a good chuckle over it. However, remember kids will always try and mimic what you do -- so always be conscience of age appropriate tricks!

Do some simple coin vanishes and productions, especially from behind the ear. Kids love it. The other day I was at a party for my cousin's baptism, and my cousin (not the one who was baptized), who is 3 or 4, wanted to see a magic trick. I went into the bathroom, got a piece of toilet paper, rolled it up, and did a French Drop. Then, I went behind his ear and pulled it out. I did a retention vanish, keeping my hand closed, and pretended to throw it through one ear and out the other. He started laughing and clapping his hands. He can't talk too well, but I could tell his amazement.

If you don't have it yet, I suggest getting Bobo's Modern Coin Magic. Kraynik wrote a long review on it, it's in the reviews section.

SPONGE BALLS!!!

8)

(just for you Sean)

Seriously, sponge balls are great for very young kids, because they seem like a toy. The squishyness of them is fun, and the fact that it can help with their counting (how many in your hand? Now there's two!)

Wilson's routine is fantastic, I can't pimp it enough. I have used my own version of it for kids around four, all the way up to kids around 94, and it has really strong reactions.

Cheers!

If you don't take the time to read and study the very basic things you must know, how do you find the time to devote to practice and rehearsals

^^He's not talking about a DVD, he's talking about Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic.

It's a new creation, a thing called a BOOK, and they contain lots of useful information. They even come with a built in remote that has chapter selects, fast forward, review, pause, and stop.

Yes, MARK Wilson, who was OWNING at magic long before Greg, Gregory, Criss, David, David, or any other grease monkey who ever held a boq or fork came down the pipe.

Mark Wilson is a magic god, and his sponge ball routine ROCKS!
