So I am thinking of getting into birthday shows for kids ages 5 to 10. Here is a list of tricks I am planning to include in the show (Listed in order of performance):
1.) 6" Crystal Clear Cube w/ Change bag
2.) Hoppin Spots
3.) Spongeballs (does anyone have any good spongeball routine?)
4.) Food to Go w/ disappearing coke bottle
5.) Fiber Optics
6.) Strat-O-Sphere
7.)Find the Queen Stage Size

What do you think of this show. How long do you expect it to take. I am thinking of buying the Palmo Gimmick and making a banner that says Happy Birthday appear. Or/and I could include it in the beginning of the show.

I was also wondering what a reasonable price to charge for a show like this in a high end neighborhood.

You could make one heck of a show with these tricks. However, be cautious with ten year olds. It seems when they get to the age ten, they no longer like the material that works well with 8 and nine year olds. A good source on sponge ball tricks is the dvd Sponge. I highly recommend using sponge balls in your show! Good luck.

I thought I posted a response but guess not. With 7 effects you got a long show. Remember that your dealing with kids, keep it to half hour. If you exceed their attention span, you are TOAST. I know, I've been there.

Take 4 effects, make sure your patter is good and use three in your show, the 4th is good if you can keep their attention. Remember always leave them wanting more.

The way I set my show is like a check mark. Rate all me effects as to the results from audience, from 1 [poor] to 10 [standing O] then I lay out my show starting with a 7, then a 5, another 7 end with an 8. I save the 9's and 10's for special shows. Just the way I learned.
