I'm in the market for a silk fountain, and I'm curious as to which of the following I should get; Laflin's Silk Fountain, or his DVD on silk fountains?

When you buy Laflins Fountain you can get the DVD for a real cheap price. Get both. The DVD alone will not be any good wothout the fountain.

I use Laflin's silk fountain in every show it is GREAT. I am surprised that the bird does not slap this one down because Penguin does not sell laflin's stuff.

Doesn't the DVD teach you how to make one, which would be a bit cheaper?

Not really, it does show you a little bit but I own 2 of Laflin's fountains, for $100 ea they are worth it. They are specially made to conceal and appear, they are worth it!!

Go with Paddy's advice, I don't have his silk fountain, but many other items from Laflins, very good people to work with. I do have several of Duane's vidoes and in one he explains the fountain, if you were to try and make one it may work but nothing like the one he sells. He has great silk magic and some other stuff ie Linking Ropes, Rope to silk etc. Just google his name Duane Laflin.

I forgot to mention, every fountain needs an ending, not just run out of silks. I use a 36" butterfly silk for my endings, Duane has several others that are just as beautiful but I prefer butterflys.

I got the DVD and I love it, Paddy, do you happen to know how his other DVDs on silk magic are? The second one seems as if it covers what's on the first and the third, but perhaps not in as much depth.

I have all 3 DVDs and they are all worth it.

Paddy, when you do the silk fountain, do you use patter or music? I have never brought music to a show before, but think it could be great, unfortunatly I don't have a sound system or the money for one yet.
