This is one of those questions that if you have to ask you aren't ready for kids shows.

First, have your magic practiced, practiced practiced until you can do the tricks in your sleep. Then routine your show. You need four of five tricks for a kids show because it should be no longer than one half hour.

Next, write the patter for the show and practice, practice, practice that.

Almost over, now you put the tricks and the patter together and rehearse, rehearse, rehearse, until you can be knocked unconscious and still do your show. Now you are ready for...

Finally, go sell your show and perform it.

We'll see you in about two years when your ready for kid's shows.

ok, so I have work to do, actually Iv been doing magic for a couple years, not, thanks paddy. I admire and despise you, i cant make up my mind.

So you have been doing magic for a couple years now? Or you havn't been doing it a couple years? You know he's right though, your probably not ready for shows.

Joker tube and strat-o-sphere are the same effect. So only get one of those. Many people on penguin say that strat-o-sphere is better so you may want to get that.

Bisection is a great trick, but not so much for kids shows. Wouldn't you be scared if you were 5 and saw someones lower part of their body dissapear? They might like it though, I've just heard someone say this on penguin before and I kind of agree with them.

The bite out of quarter again isn't really a kids show trick.

Sure they are good tricks, there are hundreds of good tricks, but this is a kids show, not a bunch of tricks you know thrown together. To have a show, you need to work very hard to put it together and get it down perfectly. I am working on a kids show right now, a new one (I don't like my old one too much) which is costing me a small fortune. I should have all the materials for it within a month, but I wont have it ready to perform for a long, long time.

By the way, to have a good show, a lot of the time a theme is important.

You might be just buying tricks, but buy books on how to perform tricks well and practice well. Example: Beyond Secrets by Jay Sankey or something like that.

Coloring book, P&J, joker tube, crayons, TT, appearing cane are all good kid tricks. With kids you have to be really entertaining with each trick. Audience partipitation is a must, keep them busy and amused.
NO card tricks!

Um, this might be a stupid question, but what is TT?

Also, the only card trick that would work for kids is Card-Toon 2. Because of "Bob" it will make them interested.

Yea it is! And penguin won't even let you type out the whole thing; its a magic prop every magician owns.

Card tricks that require kids to remember things are normally a bad idea! Unless they are older.

The thing you guys that are just starting out need to do is this: First figure out who your magicians personality is! What I mean by that is are you the magician that makes yourself look silly by messing up on your tricks just to in the end make it all better. Or are you clean cut and sharply dressed? These things matter a great deal. Lets say you want to be comical in your performance. You dont want to dress sharp you want your outfit and your routine to be full of laughs. Now once you figure out that part build your routine based on that person. everything needs to flow together or you will look out of place! Odd even as well.
