Look on David Ginn,Sammy Smith or Steve Kissell sites. They have plenty to do research on children's shows. These guys are giants in this field.

Definitely David Ginn here are a few other resources:

Birthday Magicians Handbook by Dave Fiscus
Terry Herbert's Children's Magic The Herbert Way
Dan Harlans Pack Small Play Big Kid's Birthday Show (An excellent show all done out of a briefcase!!)

If you are serious about booking shows, promoting etc a good resource is David Ginn's The Only 3 Ways to Book Your Show. Hope it helps.

I beg to differ, if you are trying to be a birth day party performer, there are better books and tapes. David Ginn, is a school performer, and library magician. His advice on kids magic is good, but on the specifics of birthday parties, you will not learn a lot.

Esylvan,
Sorry that you couldn't get anything from David Ginn to help you with B.D. shows. I personnally have a number of books and videos from him that specifically helps putting a B.D. party together.
Sammy Smith and Steve Kissell is as good if not better, but if you couldn't get something from Ginn that could help you, maybe your comprehension and readiing skills aren't up to snuff!!

No, I got a lot of usefull info, but I just noticed it was geered more twords schools, I was just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Can I have some names? On Ginns site he has like 3 books geared to kid shows. If he is such a world renowned author he should distrubute more books. Some names of books would help.

One of the best books on birthday parties for kids is called" The Birthday Party Business." There are several kid show entertainers that help in the writing of the book.
On Ginn's site he also has some cassette and video's that could help. Just get on the site and look them up, I won't do it for you.
Also look into Steve Kissell and Sammy Smith, I've seen both of these guys at conventions. They've made their living doing this for years and are very successful so they must know more then some of us on this site.
In order to make money you have to spend it to put a good show together. Oh, you can go the cheap route and feel your way thru, trust me it shows.
You're not fooling anyone but yourself, once the word got out about your show your bookings will start to dwindle. Sacrifice now put in the work and homework, then go out and try the paid jobs. You'll feel more confident and it'll show in your performance.
