How about hippity-hop rabits?

The funny thing about doing Hippity Hop Rabbits for kids five and under is that sometimes they don't "catch" the turning around thing. They actually believe the rabbits are changing places.

So... strictly speaking, you might want to be doing this trick for kids who are old enough to know when magic isn't happening. You have to know enough about child development to understand how kids understand the world at various ages.

I didn't read through the entire thingso I don't know if this was mentioned: Seriously Silly by David Kaye (great book on kids magic) has a section on doing magic shows for kids ages 3-6.

On a seperate note, did anybody realize that this thread is about 2 years old (although I guess the advice would still apply)?
